Type. Select either Service Pack or Hotfix.
Version. Select SQL Server 2005 or 2008.
File Name. Type the name of the service pack or hotfix to be installed or click Browse to locate it.
NOTE:
Be sure to specify a valid name. If the name is invalid and the operating system does not respond,
the wizard will appear to hang.
Click Next to go to the next dialog.
“Installation Credentials” dialog
This dialog asks for the credentials of the user account that will be used to run the installation.
Click Next to go to the next dialog.
“Select the Instances to Update” dialog
Select the SQL Server instances that you want to update.
NOTE:
The dialog lists all of the SQL Server instances on the node, regardless of the SQL Server version. Be
sure that the instances you select match the SQL Server product version you specified earlier.
