4.0.0 HP Polyserve Matrix Server Installation Guide (T5392-96046, March 2010)

2. Right-click the file MxS_4.0.0.<xxxx>.<arch>.msi and select Run as
Administrator to start the Installation Wizard. By default, Matrix Server is installed
in the %SystemDrive%\Program Files\Polyserve\MatrixServer
directory; however, you can specify another location.
NOTE:
If an event such as a power failure causes the installation to fail, reboot the server
using the Last known good configuration. This option is available when you press
F8 during startup.
Repeat steps 13 and 14 on each server that will be in the matrix.
Matrix Server can also be installed using the following Windows Installer
command-line options. The command must be run with elevated privileges.
msiexec /i MxS_4.0.0.<xxxx>.<arch>.msi
15. Install hardware snapshot software (optional)
Array-based hardware snapshots are supported on HP EVA and Engenio storage
arrays. If you will be using this feature, the following software must be installed on
the servers in the matrix.
HP EVA storage arrays
To take hardware snapshots on HP StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Array (EVA)
storage arrays, the latest version of the HP StorageWorks Scripting System Utility
(SSSU) must be installed on all servers in the cluster. Also, the latest version of
CommandView EVA software must be installed on your Management Appliance. Be
sure that your versions of SSSU and CommandView EVA are consistent. The SSSU
utility must be renamed to %Program Files%\Hewlett-Packard\SANworks\
Element Manager for StorageWorks HSV\Bridge\sssu.exe. To locate
this software, contact your HP representative.
HP MSA2000 storage arrays
To take hardware snapshots on HP StorageWorks 2000 Modular Smart Array
(MSA2000) storage arrays, the latest version of firmware must be installed on the
array controllers and the SSH Command Line Interface (CLI) service must be enabled
on the array controllers. Also, note that a MSA2000 snapshot license is required.
