3.7.0 HP StorageWorks HP Scalable NAS File Serving Software release notes for Linux (AG513-96006, October 2009)

A new version of the mxcollect command is available. The new command gathers additional
information and is CGI-based. The previous version of the command is still provided in the /opt/
hpcfs/tools directory if needed.
If the SELinux security policy is set to enforcing, the following option must now be included when
you mount a PSFS filesystem using the Linux mount command:
-o context=system_u:object_r:nfs_t
A new file, ancillary.txt, replaces the Third-Party Licenses document provided with the 3.5.1
release. The file is installed in the /etc/opt/hpcfs directory.
New features in HP FS Option for Linux 3.7.0
FS Option now provides the following:
Support for virtualized NFSD RPC reply caches. When the feature is enabled, the contents of the
NFSD RPC reply cache are written out to a file when a Virtual NFS Server is removed from the
node. By transferring the cache file to another node before the virtualized server is reactivated
there, the cache entries can be preloaded on the destination node, giving a more transparent
transition.
Support for using Oracle's Direct NFS as an NFS client. FS Option has been thoroughly tested
using both Linux and Windows clients.
Upgrades to the 3.7.0 release
Before upgrading clusters that include either MxFS-Linux or FS Option for Linux, you will need to install
the MxFS-Linux migration package RPM on all nodes. This package provides tools to manage the
change from the MxReg data registry used in the 3.5.1 release to the new mxds datastore provided
with the 3.7.0 release. The MxFS-Linux migration package RPM is available in the same location as
the HP Scalable NAS RPMs. For information about installing the migration package, see the HP
Scalable NAS File Serving Software upgrade guide.
