3.7.0 HP StorageWorks HP Scalable NAS File Serving Software release notes for Linux (AG513-96006, October 2009)
HP X5500 Storage Gateway for Linux/HP Clustered Gateway/HP 4400 Scalable
NAS systems
DescriptionDefect
Kernel OOPS during QLogic driver unload
When the QLogic driver is unloaded on a cluster node with the /etc/init.d/pmxs unload
command, a kernel OOPS message from cmahostd may be generated. Also,
/etc/init.d/pmxs unload will fail as dm holds a reference to the sd devices. The cluster
service will start after reboot.
Workaround. Execute dmsetup remove_all before unloading the driver.
EVA Snapshots can fail due to sparse LUN numbering (QXCR1000322023)
If LUNs are not sequentially numbered, the integrated EVA snapshots can fail.
Workaround. On each cluster node, modify the /etc/opt/hpcfs/scl.conf file. In the file,
uncomment the max_lun parameter and change it 128. Then issue the following command to
restart the cluster services:
/etc/init.d/pmxs restart
Quick Restore installation fails on HP X5500 Storage Gateway for Linux/HP Clustered
Gateway/HP 4400 Scalable NAS systems
This problem occurs only on HP X5500 Storage Gateway for Linux, HP Clustered Gateway, and
HP 4400 Scalable NAS systems with DL380 G5 servers running RAID controller firmware version
2.04. When attempting to Quick Restore these servers, the installation fails with the following
error:
No physical drives detected on the controller slot
Workaround: Upgrade the RAID firmware to at least 2.08 and then start the Quick Restore. The
firmware upgrade is available at the following location on the HP support website in the form
of a bootable CD.
