3.7.0 HP StorageWorks HP Scalable NAS File Serving Software release notes for Linux (AG513-96006, October 2009)
DescriptionDefect
Dynamic volume properties cannot be displayed
If the label for a filesystem on a dynamic volume includes a restricted XML character, the
Management Console and the mx dynvolume properties <volumeName> command
will not be able to display the properties for the dynamic volume. The restricted characters
are:
& > < " '
Workaround. Relabel the filesystem via the Management Console. Open the Filesystems tab,
select the filesystem (not a mount point), right-click, and select Properties. The enter the new
label on the Properties dialog.

Entering an invalid replication interval does not generate an error
The replication interval specified in the replication configuration file must be a whole number.
If a fractional number such as 190.5 is specified, an error will not be generated and the
configuration currently being used by replication will not be changed.
24958
Deport Disks window does not display mount status for psv devices
The Deport Disks window includes a “Mount” column that should contain a checkmark when
at least one subdevice is a part of at least one mounted filesystem. However, the checkmarks
appear only when the disk contains psd devices with at least one filesystem mounted.
Workaround. To determine whether a dynamic volume (a psv device) contains a mounted
filesystem, check the Filesystems tab on the HP Scalable NAS Management Console.
25051
Incorrect alert appears when the destination filesystem is full
If the destination cluster runs out of space during a replication, an alert incorrectly reports
the following:
could not connect to the destination cluster...verify the keys
are in place.

Device Mapper multipath daemon dies
The Device Mapper multipathd daemon can die under certain circumstances. When multipathd
is not running, path failover does not function and I/O failures will not cause alternate paths
to be used. Also, the failed I/Os may never complete, causing application stalls.
On RHEL5 systems, multipathd can die when selinux is enabled. This known issue is
documented on the following web site. (SLES10 systems do not use selinux and are not
affected by the issue.)
http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=2746
Workaround. Use a different multipath solution, or write a monitor that determines whether
multipathd is running and, if not, restarts the service.
