3.7.0 HP StorageWorks HP Scalable NAS File Serving Software release notes for Linux (AG513-96006, October 2009)

DescriptionDefect
mxcheck fails without an error message
If the /tmp directory is full, the mxcheck utility will fail and HP Scalable NAS will not start.
When this situation occurs, mxcheck should display an error message explaining that there
is insufficient space in /tmp.

Application resources are not grouped properly if application is renamed
If you rename an application containing an Export Group and then reopen the Management
Console, the application will be displayed as two applications on the Applications tab. The
first application will have the name of the Export Group and the second application will have
the new name.
Workaround. Rename the application to match the name of the Export Group.

HP Scalable NAS requires that local passwd and group files be used
HP Scalable NAS requires that the pmxs user and group be present in the local /etc/passwd
and /etc/group files. The system must be configured to use these files to avoid dependence
on external services that might affect high availability.
13594
mx fs destroy partially destroys snapshots
Do not use the mx fs destroy command to remove a snapshot. If you attempt to delete
a snapshot with the mx fs destroy command, the snapshot filesystem will be removed
but the snapshot will remain on the array. You will then need to manually remove the snapshot
LUNs from the array. (After removing the LUNs, you will see disk import errors on the console
for the LUNs that were removed.)
If you need to delete a snapshot, either use the mx snapshot destroy command or locate
the snapshot on the PolyServe Management Console, right-click, and select Delete.

Deadlock can occur if a node is a client for an NFS filesystem
A node running HP Scalable NAS should not be configured as a client for an NFS filesystem.
Doing this can cause a deadlock situation on the node.

License file is not read immediately when installed out of sequence during upgrade
The upgrade procedure specifies when the license file should be installed. If the file is installed
at a later point, it may take up to 15 minutes for the new license to be refreshed and virtual
hosts to become available. To force the license to be refreshed immediately, take one of these
steps:
Reboot the node or restart HP Scalable NAS after the license file is installed.
Connect the Management Console to the node and run the Management Console Refresh
License option. (If the Management Console is connected to a different node, the Refresh
License option will fail to refresh the license.)

Performance Dashboard reports inconsistent data when under load
When the cluster is under heavy filesystem load, the Performance Dashboard may display
gaps in the performance graphs. Also, some nodes may occasionally be shown as down
while they are actually up. The Performance Dashboard should return to normal after the
filesystem load drops below a critical value.
23618
Performance Dashboard does not support a mix of Multicast/Unicast nodes
When the Performance Dashboard is run from a node configured for Multicast operations,
it will report Host down for nodes configured for Unicast operations. Similarly, when the
Dashboard is run from a node configured for Unicast, it will not see nodes configured for
Multicast.
