3.7.0 HP StorageWorks HP Scalable NAS File Serving Software event notification guide HP Scalable NAS for Linux (AG513-96007, June 2009)
Message and Corrective ActionID
VolCreateError: unable to create imported volume <volume>.
Action. HP Scalable NAS cannot see one or more of the subdevices included in
the volume. Run the mpdump command to list the subdevices in the volume and
then check the state of the disks containing the subdevices. If the volume is obsolete,
delete the volume.
13927
Unable to create imported volume <volume> resolved.
Action. None. Alert 13927 is resolved.

Membership Partition <partition> does not belong to this cluster; cannot use.
Action. Determine whether the specified membership partition belongs to this
cluster. Use the Storage Settings tab on the Configure Cluster window or the
mpdump command to see the membership partitions configured for the cluster. If
the partition does belong to the cluster, first verify that no other cluster is using it.
Then stop HP Scalable NAS on all nodes and run the command mprepair
--sync-clusterids. See the HP Scalable NAS File Serving Software
administration guide for more information about this command.
13929
Cluster now owns Membership Partition <partition>; problem resolved.
Action. None. Alert 13929 is resolved.

FenceAgent <IP_address>: no response to queries from <server>.
Fabric fencing is configured and a node has lost network access or the
FibreChannel switch is unresponsive.
Action. Possible causes of the error are:
• The server has experienced a total loss of network access to the FibreChannel
switch(es).
• A FibreChannel switch has become unresponsive to snmp requests.
• The dependent r/w community string has been changed or deleted.
For the Cisco MDS FibreChannel switch with firmware version 2.1 or later, the
default VSAN (VSAN 1) is likely disabled, which causes fcFeFabricName (FA-MIB
defined) to be unassigned (all zeros). Currently HP Scalable NAS uses the OID
assignment for fcFeFabricName to probe connected FC switches and will return
the above error messages if it is unable to determine a value for fcFeFabricName.
The messages can be quiesced by enabling the default VSAN (VSAN 1).
The following utility specifies whether a server can communicate with the
FibreChannel switch. The command displays the name service entries of the WWPN
and the Fabric IDs of the switch. It may take approximately five or six seconds for
the output to be displayed.
PSANinfo -c <snmp community string> <IP address of FC switch>
