3.7.0 HP StorageWorks HP Scalable NAS File Serving Software administration guide - HP Scalable NAS 3.7 for Linux (AG513-96002, October 2009)
NOTE:
Because the location of the private key is specific for replication and is specified on
the command line used for rsync, any other applications using ssh should not be
affected.
Configure replication
Replication can transmit files to an IP address for either a node in the destination
cluster or an HP Scalable NAS virtual host configured on that cluster. Using a virtual
host is preferred so that replication can fail over on the destination cluster, but it is
not required. Use the appropriate procedure below to configure replication on your
clusters.
Configure replication for a virtual host IP on the destination cluster
Complete these steps:
1. Create the administrative filesystem on both the source and destination clusters
if it does not already exist. See Create the administrative filesystem, page 139.
2. Create a virtual host for replication. See Chapter 17, page 301.
3. Install the ssh key pair. Execute the following command on the first node in the
destination cluster. (The first time rplkeys is run, it may prompt for the remote
password if the host fingerprint for the destination node is not in ~root/.ssh/
known_hosts on the source cluster.)
rplkeys –v
The command will report “Creating host keys.”
4. Run the following command on the remaining nodes in the destination cluster:
rplkeys –v
The command will report “Putting host keys in place.” (If a node has already
been configured, the command will report that the keys are already in place.)
5. Create and import the replication configuration file as described under Create
the replication configuration file, page 257.
