variationoftheServerMessageBlock(SMB)protocol.ItrunsoverTCP/IP
andiscommonlyusedonWi ndows systemstosharefiles
remotely.

CIFS,orMxFSforCIFS.
HPPolyServeSoftwarefilesharescanbedeployedintwoways:with
VirtualCIFSServersthatprovidefailoversupportorwithMatrixFile
Sharesthatenable
connectionloadbalancing.
WithbothVirtualCIFSServersandMatrixFileShares,thedatatobe
sharedisstoredontheMatrixServerPSFSfilesystem.Thedatacanbe
placedinsharedsubdirectoriesthatareonelevelunderthefilesystem
path.CIFSclientscanthenattachdirectlytothesubdirectories.
