WhenyouaddaVirtualFileSharetoaVirtualCIFSServer,besuretouse
thePolyServeManagementConsoleinsteadofaWindowsapplication.(If
WindowsutilitiesareusedtocreatetheVirtualFileShares,theywillnot
failover.)
HPPolyServeSoftwarealsocreatesaservicemonitorthatperiodically
checkswhethertheVirtualFileSharecanbeaccessedexternally. Afailure
detectedbythemonitor’sprobeoperationcancausetheClusterPulse
processtofailovertheVirtualCIFSServertoabackupnode.Youcanuse
theAdvancedoptionsontheAddVirtualFileSharewindowto
customizethe
behavioroftheservicemonitor.
ToaddaVirtualFileSharetoaVirtualCIFSServer,firstselecttheVirtual
CIFSServeronthePolyServeManagementConsole.Thenright‐clickand
selectAddVirtualFileShare.
