3.6.1 HP PolyServe Matrix Server Event Notification Guide (T5392-96028, August 2008)

Chapter 2: Overview 6
Alerts
Certain events called Alerts are tracked by a Matrix Server component.
When the condition causing the event is resolved, Matrix Server closes
the Alert.
Event messages for Alerts are displayed on the Alerts pane on the
PolyServe Management Console and are also written to the event logs in
the same manner as other event messages. When Matrix Server closes the
Alert, it removes the event message from the Alerts pane on the
Management Console and generates a second event message stating that
the Alert has been resolved. The second message is also written to the
event logs.
Message Severity Levels
Each event message is labeled with a severity level indicating the relative
importance of the condition. The severity levels are:
Critical. A serious error or event requiring user attention.
Error. An error or event that typically requires user attention.
Warning. An error or event that may be indicative of a problem.
Notice. A normal, but significant condition that did not result in an
error condition.
Info. An informational or status message about an event.
Audit messages are marked with one of the following severity levels:
Audit Success. A user requested and was granted authorization to
perform a task.
Audit Failure. A user requested and was denied authorization to
perform a task.
