3.6.1 HP PolyServe Matrix Server Administration Guide (T5392-96018, August 2008)
Chapter 4: Matrix Administration 42
Quotas Information for PSFS Filesystems
The Windows utilities or third-party applications used to back up PSFS
filesystems are not aware of the Matrix Server quotas feature and cannot
back up the quotas information. Instead, when you back up a filesystem,
also use the Matrix Server psfsdq command to back up the quota
information stored on the filesystem. After restoring the filesystem, run
the psfrq command to restore the quota information. See “Back Up and
Restore Quotas” on page 132 for more information.
Back Up the System State
When you use the Microsoft Windows ntbackup utility to back up the
system state, one or more PSFS filesystems may be suspended briefly and
then resumed. When scheduling system state backups, keep in mind that
certain PSFS filesystems may be paused for write activity during the
backup. Read activity will continue during the pause, but write activity
will appear to hang until the filesystem is resumed.
Matrix Server Network Port Numbers
Matrix Server uses the following network ports for external and internal
connections.
External Network Port Number
The following port number is used for external connections to Matrix
Server, such as connections from the Management Console and the mx
utility. If Matrix Server is behind a firewall, it may be necessary to change
the firewall rules to allow traffic for this port.
Internal Network Port Numbers
The following network port numbers are used for internal, server-to-
server communication. You should need to change the firewall rules for
