3.6.1 HP PolyServe Matrix Server Administration Guide (T5392-96018, August 2008)

Chapter 20: SAN Maintenance 268
Online Operations
When Matrix Server is running, the Add, Repair, and Replace options on
the Storage Settings tab and the mx config mp set and repair commands
can be used only in the following circumstances:
A disk containing a membership partition is out-of-service. Use the
replace option or mx config mp set to move the partition to another
disk.
You need to move one or more membership partitions to different
storage. Use the replace option or mx config mp set to move the
partitions one-at-a-time.
In a matrix with three membership partitions, when Matrix Server
started on a server, it reported that a single membership partition was
corrupt. Use the repair option or mx config mp repair to resilver the
partition. You can also replace the partition with the replace option or
mx config mp set.
Your matrix contains a single membership partition and you want to
add two more partitions. Use the add option or mx config mp set.
While the matrix is running, two membership partitions are reported
to be corrupt. Use the repair option or mx config mp repair to resilver
the partitions. You can also replace the partition with the replace
option or mx config mp set.
NOTE: Matrix Server must be offline on all nodes when performing all
other membership partition operations.
Options on the Configure Matrix Window
If the PolyServe Management Console is running, select Matrix >
Configure to display the Configure Matrix window. If the console is not
running, open the Matrix Server Connect window, provide your
connection information, and select Configure. The membership partition
options are on the Storage Settings tab.
