The MxS$ performance objects do not appear in the Add Counter dialog.
Determine whether the Last Counter registry value under the
HKLM\system\CurrentControlSet\services\mxperfext\Performance
registry key appears without one or more of following values: Last Help,
First Counter, First Help, Object List. If so, delete the Last Counter registry
value and then run the update command.
cscript /nologo <install_dir>\perfmon\bin\mxperf_reload.js
/update_mxperfext
Reset the Perfmon Configuration
If the MMC Performance application does not list any Performance
objects, even the native Performance Objects (e.g., Processor), or if it lists
numbers instead of the names of the Performance objects, run the
following command.
cscript /nologo <install_dir>\perfmon\bin\mxperf_reload.js
/reset_perfmon
The lodctr /R command is started by the above invocation and may take a
few minutes to run to completion.
