Performance Monitoring
The MxS_Perfmon*.msi package provided with Matrix Server provides
performance information for the cluster, individual servers, and PSFS
filesystems. (See the Matrix Server Installation Guide for information about
installing this package.) The MxS_Perfmon package includes two
components: the Performance Dashboard and the MxS Perfmon
extension.
The Performance Dashboard provides performance data over a period of
time (the last hour, day, week, month, or year) You can view data for
individual servers or the entire cluster. Filesystem data is provided for
individual PSFS filesystems and can be aggregated for all PSFS
filesystems.
The MxS Perfmon extension extends the native Windows Performance
tool by adding Performance Objects and counters for Matrix Server.
NOTE: MxFS for CIFS is supported only on 64-bit systems. CIFS
performance cannot be monitored on 32-bit cluster nodes via the
Performance Dashboard or MxS Perfmon extension.
Using the Performance Dashboard
The Performance Dashboard is a web-based application. To start the
dashboard, open a browser and enter the following URL, where <node> is
the server name or IP address of the node that will run the dashboard.
