Run the Multi-Node Upgrade Wizard for

SQL Server

Be sure to put any virtualized SQL instances into maintenance mode

before attempting to patch them, as described under “Maintenance Mode

Is Required for Upgrade Operations” on page 35.

Use one of the following procedures to upgrade SQL instances:

• For SQL Server 2005 service packs, see “Install SQL Server 2005

Service Packs,” below.

• For SQL Server 2000 service packs, see “Install SQL Server 2000

Service Packs” on page 45.

• For SQL Server 2000 hotfixes, see “Install SQL Server 2000 Hotfixes”

on page 50.

Install SQL Server 2005 Service Packs

To start the wizard, select Tools > Upgrade SQL Server on the PolyServe

Management Console.
