Installation Log Files
The installation log for SQL Server 2005 instances is located at:
%PROGRAMFILES%\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Setup Bootstrap\LOG
The installation log for SQL Server 2000 instances is located at:
%SYSTEMROOT%\sqlstp.log
Make Product Files Available to the Installer
The SQL Server product files must be in a location that can be accessed by
the Multi-Node Installer. The following locations can be used:
• A PSFS filesystem on the SAN storage.
• A CIFS share referenced by UNC path (the share cannot be specified
by a mounted DOS drive letter).
Run the Multi-Node Install Wizard for SQL
Server
Before starting the wizard, be sure to review the prerequisites and
installation considerations described in the “SQL Server Installation
Overview” on page 9. Also be sure that the product files are in a location
that can be accessed by the wizard.
Use one of the following procedures to install SQL instances:
• For SQL Server 2005 instances, see “Install SQL Server 2005
Instances,” below.
• For SQL Server 2000 instances, see “Install SQL Server 2000 Instances”
on page 21.
Install SQL Server 2005 Instances
To start the Multi-Node Install Wizard for SQL Server, select Tools >
Install SQL on the PolyServe Management Console.
