Environment Issues

The following environment issues affect the operation of Matrix Server.

16049 Virtual CIFS shares are not available after Windows Server

2003 Service Pack 1 is installed

This situation affects only the matrix node that is hosting the

Virtual CIFS Server. Normal client activity is not affected. This is

a known Microsoft Windows issue. Refer to the following

Microsoft Knowledge Base article for more information.

Description

5571 Emulex HBAnyware fails to install

Matrix Server requires that the HBAnyware package be

installed on systems with Emulex HBAs. The HBAnyware

installation sometimes fails on Windows 2003 systems. If you

experience this problem, reboot the system and then retry the

installation.

7435 QLogic Switch login can cause Matrix Server failures

Matrix Server will not start if you are logged into a QLogic

FibreChannel switch and “admin start” is set.

If you log into the switch with “admin start” while Matrix

Server is running, this switch problem can affect fencing

operations and may cause the matrix to hang.

Workaround. Avoid putting the switch into “admin start” mode

while Matrix Server is running. If it is necessary to use this

mode while Matrix Server is running, limit the use of the mode

as much as possible.
