Workaround. Open the SQL Instance Aliasing window and
click the Advanced button. If “Enable the PolyServe SQL
Browser Service” is already checked on the Advanced Setting
dialog, uncheck it and click OK, and then click Apply on the
SQL Instance Aliasing window. Now reopen the SQL Instance
Aliasing window and repeat this step, this time checking the
“Enable the PolyServe SQL Browser Service “option. The
Microsoft SQL Browser Service will now be disabled, allowing
the PolyServe SQL Browser Service to start.
19529 Misleading error reporting that the Registry Replicator failed
to start
Event 40161 reports that the Registry Replicator failed to start.
This message should state that the Registry Replicator failed to
start replication of the keys.
19542 Warning reports that TCP protocol is not valid
The Application Event viewer reports the following:
The configuration of the TCP protocol in the SQL
instance <instance> is not valid.
The Multi-Node Installer does not require that a static TCP be
set for a SQL 2000 installation. Instead, the installer sets
TCPPort to zero and allows SQL Server to dynamically assign
the port. This warning appears before SQL Server has started
and can be ignored.
