3.5.1 MxDB-Oracle-HiAv Installation and Administration Guide

Install MxDB-Oracle-HiAv

This chapter describes how to install or upgrade the Database Serving

Solution Pack for Oracle HiAv on Linux (MxDB-Oracle-HiAv) and lists

prerequisites for the product.

Software Prerequisites

Before installing MxDB-Oracle-HiAv, you will need to install the

following on each node in the matrix, as described in the PolyServe Matrix

Server Installation Guide.

• A supported operating system and kernel as specified in the

MxDB-Oracle-HiAv release notes.

• A supported Oracle release (see the PolyServe Hardware and Software

Compatibility Guide for the supported versions).

• PolyServe Matrix Server 3.5.1 (or higher) and the PolyServe

Management Console 3.5.1 (or higher).

Installation Steps

When the Matrix Server installation is complete, complete these steps:

1. Create PSFS filesystems for Oracle.

2. Install a supported version of Oracle into a PSFS filesystem.

3. Install the MxODM 3.5.1 software.

4. Set up the matrix configuration file (/root/.matrixrc) on each node.
