Creates a virtual host that SQL*Net clients use to access the database.
Creates a service monitor that checks the health of servers, database
instances, and listeners. When a virtual host has an associated service
monitor, it is known as a Virtual Oracle Service.
Performs the initial boot of the database instance and the Net Services
listener.
Operations
The GUI supports a rich set of functionality for managing Virtual Oracle
Services. Operations include:
Obtaining status
Starting or stopping a Virtual Oracle Service
Rehosting a Virtual Oracle Service
Adding or removing servers from a Virtual Oracle Service
Starting or stopping Maintenance Mode
Deleting a Virtual Oracle Service
NOTE: The GUI does not actively pull for status updates. It is necessary
to click the Refresh button at the bottom of the GUI for updates if
the screen is allowed to sit idle for long periods of time.
MxDB-Oracle-HiAv Command Line Interface
The High Availability component of Matrix Server is a superuser
infrastructure. The mxdb command provides Database Administrators
with a secure, fixed set of administration functionality. The command can
be executed only by users in group DBA. This ensures that database
operations such as startup and shutdown can be performed only by
Oracle DBAs using mxdb or the MxDB-Oracle-HiAv GUI or by the
System Administrator through the PolyServe Management Console.
