Matrix Database Solution Pack
for Oracle HiAv on Linux
The Matrix Database Solution Pack for Oracle HiAv on Linux (MxDB-
Oracle-HiAv) and PolyServe Matrix Server provide high availability for
Oracle database instances and Net Services listener processes.
See the MxDB-Oracle-HiAv Installation and Administration Guide for
installation and configuration information.
Contents of the 3.5.1 Release
The MxDB-Oracle-HiAv 3.5.1 release includes the following:
• Support for site-customizable start/stop and probe scripts
• Support for Oracle Data Guard Physical Standby databases
This release also fixes the following problems:
• Defect 12580. The default MxDB-Oracle-HiAv probe action includes a
connect to the database instance via sqlplus using the ‘/ as sysdba’
arguments. This action generates a large number of .aud files under
the Oracle Home directory. The 3.5.1 release eliminates the generation
of these audit files.
• Defect 12856. The default timeout for Virtual Oracle Service recovery
was too low for databases that required substantial Oracle transaction
recovery. The timeout has been raised to 600 seconds by default.
• Defect 12857. The default core probe script (probe.sql) performed
actions deemed too heavy for a standard probe. The probe action has
been reduced significantly. Essentially, the probe relies only on V$
memory objects in the 3.5.1 release.
