MxFS-Linux sets the parameters in the /etc/sysconfig/nfs file. The original
/etc/sysconfig/nfs file is saved as /etc/sysconfig/nfs.pre_mxfs. If the /etc/
sysconfig/nfs file does not exist, it will be created.
Third-Party MPIO Software
If you are using third-party MPIO software and are upgrading the
operating system, reinstall the MPIO software according to the product
documentation. Also check the PolyServe Knowledge Base on the
PolyServe Web site for articles regarding the product. After the MPIO
software is installed, verify that it can see the LUNs on the storage array.
For RHEL4, if your MPIO software requires that you build a kernel
module, you will also need to install the appropriate PolyServe kernel-
devel RPM. This package includes the kernel header files necessary to
build the module. (The full kernel source tree is not required.) Simply
install the RPM and then follow the instructions from the module
provider to build the module.
Back Up and Restore the Matrix
Configuration
The following information describes how to back up the matrix
configuration. If you will be installing a new operating system during the
upgrade, you will also need to restore the matrix configuration from your
backups.
Matrix Server Configuration
The Matrix Server configuration is stored in the /var/opt/polyserve and
/etc/opt/polyserve directories. You will need to create separate tar files for
these directories using tar -cf to preserve the permissions on the files. Be
sure to copy the tar files to a secure location such as another server.
To restore the configuration, extract the contents of the tar files to the
/etc/opt/polyserve and /var/opt/polyserve directories on the server.
