Commands invoked via the PolyServe Management Console
mx commands, with the exception of status commands
The audit entry contains the IP address and port number of the client TCP
connection. It also includes the user name used to log into the
Management Console or invoke the mx command. Login authentications
are recorded as either “success” or “failure.” The results of the
Management Console and mx commands are not recorded.
The audit entries are global and appear in the matrix log on all servers.
The audit log feature can be enabled or disabled; by default, it is enabled.
To disable auditing on a particular server, you will need to edit the
/etc/opt/polyserve/mxinit.conf file. Locate the following line in the file:
# mxlogd_start_options = "--mxinit";
Remove the comment character at the beginning of the line and then add
the -auditoff option:
mxlogd_start_options = "--mxinit -auditoff";
Collect Log Files with mxcollect
The mxcollect utility collects error event logs that can be useful for
diagnosing technical issues with Matrix Server. When you report a
problem to HP Support, you may be asked to run the mxcollect utility
and then send the logs to HP for analysis.
Create an FTP Account
An FTP server is available to help you submit log files. To obtain an FTP
account, contact HP Support.
Run mxcollect
You will need to run the mxcollect utility on each node. The mxcollect
utility is located in the /opt/polyserve/tools directory.
NOTE: The mxcollect utility requires that the root user have ssh
configured correctly and be allowed among nodes in the matrix.
