FibreChannel Switches
Changes to Switch Modules
Changing the hardware configuration, such as adding or replacing switch
modules, is not supported while Matrix Server is running. This restriction
applies only to FibreChannel switches that are under the control of
Matrix Server.
Add a New FibreChannel Switch
If you are using FibreChannel switch-based fencing and need to add a
new FC switch, complete these steps:
1. Shut down Matrix Server on all nodes.
# /etc/init.d/pmxs stop
2. Issue the mxconsole command on one node to start the Management
Console. On the Matrix Server Connect window, specify the server,
click the Connect button, and select Configure. If you are prompted
for the user name and password, specify the appropriate values.
3. Select the Storage Configuration tab on the Configure Matrix window.
In the SAN Switches section of the tab, click the Add button to
configure the new switches.
4. Click Apply at the bottom of the Configure Matrix window.
5. Go to the Matrix Wide Configuration tab, select all servers except the
server to which you are connected, and then click the “Export To”
button.
6. Restart Matrix Server on the existing nodes.
