A setting of 10,000ms will be adequate for many storage arrays. If you are
using DDN storage, you may need to increase the parameter beyond
10,000ms.
NOTE: If you increased the parameter and are still experiencing I/O
timeouts, a different issue may be causing the problem. Contact
HP Technical Support for assistance.

Change the Fencing Method
This procedure describes how to change the matrix fencing method on
servers that are already running Matrix Server.
1. Stop Matrix Server on all servers in the matrix:
# /etc/init.d/pmxs stop
2. Reboot all servers having entries in the Matrix Server host registry.
Use this command to see a list of the affected servers:
# /opt/polyserve/lib/mpdump
3. Clear the host registry on the matrix. On one server, issue the
command mxmpconf at the operating system prompt. Then select
“Repair” from the Main Menu. On the Repair Menu, select the option
to clear the host registry.
4. Run mxconfig from one server in the matrix. Skip the opening
windows and then configure the appropriate fencing method.
5. When you have completed the fencing configuration, skip the
membership partition configuration windows and then export the
new configuration to the other servers in the matrix.
6. Start Matrix Server on each server:
# /etc/init.d/pmxs start
7. Verify the fencing configuration as described in the PolyServe
Installation Guide.
