NFS Tuning
The default operating system and network settings do not provide
optimal NFS performance. Improvements can be made by modifying
certain operating system parameters and making adjustments to the
network components.
NOTE: When tuning NFS, it is important to consider your workload and
environment. It is up to you to determine the best settings for
optimizing NFS performance. However, the changes described in
this section may provide a better general starting point for NFS
operations than the default settings on an untuned system.
Tuning Overview
The following diagram shows three areas of the system that affect NFS
performance: the kernel, the network, and NFS clients.
