Matrix DataBase Solution Pack for SQL Server™ Contents of the 3.4.3 Release Matrix DataBase Solution Pack for SQL Server™ (MxDB for SQL Server) version 3.4.3 provides support for installing SQL Server 2005 SP2. The release also fixes the following problems: • Defect 14896. A duplicate IP address was added when MxDB for SQL Server restored the original or virtual registry. • Defect 14900.

When a Virtual SQL Server was moved from Maintenance mode to Operational mode, the SQL Server service was started on both the primary and the backup nodes. • Defect 16087. When a Virtual SQL Server was moved to Maintenance mode and the node was then rebooted, the command to return to Operate mode failed because of duplicate registry keys. • Defect 16115.

Disable the MatrixServer service, using either the Services manager or the following command: C:> sc config matrixserver start= disabled 3. Uninstall any MxDB for SQL Server hot fixes and bug fixes. Use the Add or Remove Programs Control Panel to do this. 4. Uninstall MxDB for SQL Server. Use the Add or Remove Programs Control Panel to do this. 5. Reboot the node. 6. Install MxDB for SQL Server 3.4.3.

When DNS was not configured properly, the SQL agent and SQL clients could not connect to a Virtual SQL Server. See the section “DNS Misconfiguration Causes Virtual SQL Server Connection to Fail” in Chapter 4 of the MxDB for SQL Server Installation and Administration Guide for information about configuring DNS.
