You will need to enter the following information on the Add Network

Library Configuration window.

Server alias: Specify the alias that you want to use for this instance.

Network library Select TCP/IP.

Connection parameters. Enter the Virtual SQL Server’s fully qualified

name or its IP address as the server name. Then uncheck “Dynamically

determine port” and specify the port number associated with the SQL

instance.

The following example creates the alias mySQL for Virtual SQL Server

vqar4s6. Port number 40001 is assigned to the SQL instance associated

with the databases to be accessed.
