Chapter 2: Install SQL Server 30

Location of media: Specify the location of the recorded installation file.

Datafiles path prefix: Specify the common path that will be used for the

data files for this SQL Server instance. This location will be used to store

the default SQL database provided with the product. You can install your

own SQL databases at other locations on the shared storage.

NOTE: For each node, the common path will be appended by the node

name and instance name to make a unique path name.

Instance: In the Name field, specify the name that should be assigned to

this SQL Server instance. (Although you specified an Instance Name

when you recorded the installation, you can enter a different name here.

The same recording can be used for multiple installations.) If you are

installing the default instance, enter default as the name.

The Port field contains the port number that you assigned to TCP/IP

when you recorded the installation setup file. This field is required.

Installation Account: Enter the user name, password, and domain for an

installation user account that has Write permission on each node. This
