PolyServe Matrix Server
New Features in Matrix Server 3.4.0
Matrix Server 3.4.0 includes the following new features:
Disk quotas on volumes containing PSFS filesystems. See the PolyServe
Matrix Server Administration Guide for information about enabling and
managing quotas.
Hardware snapshots of PSFS filesystems that are located on HP EVA
arrays.
Shadow copies of shared folders. This feature enables users to access a
copy of a filesystem at a specific point in time and retrieve or copy
previous versions of files.
New service and device monitors:
SHARED_FILESYSTEM device monitor. This monitor is associated with
a specific PSFS filesystem and can be used to verify that the filesystem
can be accessed.
NT_SERVICE monitor. This monitor is configured for a specific NT
service and controls the starting and stopping of the NT service and,
optionally, dependent services of the specified NT Service. The
monitor can be configured as either a service monitor or a device
monitor, depending on the effect that you want it to have on the
matrix.
New “Storage Summary” window on the PolyServe Management
Console. This window shows information about the PSFS filesystems
configured on the matrix and also lists the LUNs that are currently
unused and available for filesystems.
“Drag and drop” can now be used on the Applications tab of the
PolyServe Management Console to reconfigure Matrix Server entities.
