Install Solution Packs

This chapter describes how to perform new installations of the MxDB for

SQL Server and MxFS for CIFS Solution Packs.

NOTE: Be sure to install the versions of the Solution Packs that

correspond to your operating system. Install the 32-bit version of

the Solution Packs on the 32-bit operating system, and install the

64-bit version of the Solution Packs on the 64-bit operating system.

Install MxDB for SQL Server

Prerequisites

Before installing MxDB for SQL Server, the following prerequisites

should be met:

• PolyServe Matrix Server must be installed on each node.

• Microsoft Cluster Services (MSCS) must not be installed.

• The Microsoft .NET framework must be installed on all nodes. Version

1.1 (or above) is required for the 32-bit operating system. Version 2.0 is

required for the 64-bit operating system.

Installation Procedure

MxDB for SQL Server must be installed on each matrix node that will be

providing SQL services. To install this product, insert the Solution Pack

CD into the CD drive or go to the location where you have downloaded

the software. Then double click the file MxDB_SQL_3.4.0.<xxxx>.msi and

run the Installation Wizard.
