Move Up/Move Down. Use these buttons to reorder the list in the
Bookmarks window. This option is especially useful for changing the
connection order for the servers in a matrix.
NOTE: If you are using a wildcard to match the servers in the matrix,
the wildcard entry should appear after any server entries. You
can use the move buttons to reorder the entries as necessary.
(For information about wildcards, see the description of the
.matrixrc file in the PolyServe Matrix Server Command Reference.)
Reset. This option is useful if you have checked the “Remember this
password” box on the Authentication Parameters dialog. If the user
name/password information has changed, clicking Reset allows you to
clear the saved user name and password. When you enter the new
password information on the Authentication Parameters dialog, click
the “Remember this password” checkbox to update the .matrixrc file
with the new information.
NOTE: The password information is automatically removed if you get a
password failure when connecting to the matrix.
The “Synchronize Server Bookmarks Automatically” feature
automatically adds (or removes) bookmark entries when you connect to a
server that has been bookmarked. The resulting list of bookmarks
matches the list of servers in the matrix to which the connected server
belongs. You can then select the matrix, or any server in the matrix, for
the connection. If the connection attempt fails, Matrix Server will try to
make the connection via another bookmarked server in that matrix.
Update an Existing .matrixrc File to Use New Features
If your .matrixrc file was used in a Matrix Server release earlier than 3.4.0
and has single servers configured, you will need to create a bookmark
entry for the matrix in order to use the “synchronize bookmarks” feature.
To do this, take one of these steps:
Click the Add button on the Matrix Server Connect window to add a
new bookmark. On the Add Bookmark window, specify a server and
the name of the matrix. (After the bookmark is created, you can delete
the single-server entries in the .matrixrc file.)
