To delete a snapshot from the command line, type the following:
mx snapshot destroy <volume>
Snapclone devices, like regular filesystem LUNs, cannot be deleted
from the Management Console. To delete snapclones, you must destroy
the filesystem and/or volume, deport the LUN(s), and delete the LUN(s)
with the array-specific utilities.
Assign or Remove Drive Letters or Mount
Paths
Drive letters or mount paths can be assigned or unassigned to snapshots
in the same manner as filesystems. Select the snapshot on the
Management Console, right-click, and select Assign Path or Unassign
Paths as appropriate. If you are assigning a drive letter or path to a
snapshot, the Assign a Matrix-Wide Drive Letter window appears,
allowing you to specify the appropriate drive letter or path.
To assign a drive letter or path to a snapshot from the command line, type
the following:
mx fs assignpath --path <path or driveletter> <snapshot>
<ALL_SERVERS | server ...>
To unassign a drive letter or path from the command line, type the
following:
mx fs unassign <snapshot> <ALL_SERVERS | server ...>
Using Shadow Copies of Shared Folders
When you take a snapshot of a PSFS filesystem, you can specify that it
should be shared as a shadow copy. The snapshot provides a point-in-
time version of the filesystem. Users who have accidently lost or changed
a file can access the appropriate shadow copy of the filesystem and
retrieve or copy the previous version of the file.
Shadow copies of PSFS filesystems are intended to be used with CIFS.
The filesystem is shared via Matrix File Shares or Virtual File Shares, as
described in the Matrix File Serving Solution Pack for CIFS Administration
