Implementation Changes in Matrix Server
3.1.0
The following implementation changes have been made in this release:
• The Management Console has been enhanced with new icons and
features for improved presentation and control.
•The /etc/polyserve directory has been moved to /etc/opt/polyserve, and
the /var/polyserve directory has been moved to /var/opt/polyserve.
• The unregistered network port numbers used by Matrix Server can
now be modified if necessary.
• A new parameter, Always Active, is available for virtual hosts. When
this parameter is set, upon server failure, the virtual host will move to
an active server even if all associated service and device monitors are
inactive or down.
• The built-in NFS service monitor is no longer supported. For high
availability and failover support of NFS servers, use the MxFS-Linux
Solution Pack.
• Previously, when a device monitor was created, it would be assigned
to all virtual hosts by default. In 3.1.0, you will need to select any
virtual hosts that should be associated with a new device monitor.
• A new activity type, Single-Always-Active, is available for device
monitors. With this activity type, the monitor is active on only one of
the selected servers. Upon server failure, the monitor will fail over to
an active server even if all associated service and device monitors are
down.
• Multi-active and multi-probe operations are available for any
monitors that support them. These operations were previously
available only on custom monitors.
• The Management Console contains new options for PSFS filesystems:
