Release
This release includes the following new features:
A Performance Dashboard that can be used for monitoring activities
such as cluster-wide resource utilization and PSFS filesystem I/O
traffic.
Support for EVA snapclones. A snapclone is similar to a hardware
snapshot, except that it completely copies the source filesystem data at
a particular point in time.
Support for RHEL4 Update 2 and the 2.6.9-22.EL and 2.6.9-22.0.1.EL
kernels.
• The mxcheck utility now verifies that the permissions are correct on
the Matrix Server installation directories.
The release also includes fixes for the following problems:
Defect 8767. The Management Console displayed the snapshot
options for all psv devices.
Defect 9243. mxcheck required that a gateway be present on the
network and prevented the product from starting. In the 3.1.1 release,
a warning is issued if a gateway is not present on the network and
Matrix Server is allowed to start.
Defect 10224. NFS single-stream performance was slow.
Defect 10894. Some mx commands did not show command usage with
--help but instead listed all available commands.
Defect 10971. The mxcollect command did not collect message logs
that had been rotated.
Defect 11032. The wildcard was not a valid entry in the search field on
the “Users/Groups to Add” window.
Defect 11034. The Quota Properties dialog did not always show both
the owner account name and the filesystem label.
