1735 Matrix Server does not shut down applications
When Matrix Server is shut down, it terminates processes that
have open files on PSFS filesystems. To avoid this problem, we
recommend that you stop applications that are using the
filesystem before you shut down Matrix Server.
5862 mxconfig should query for HBA when PowerPath is installed
When a Matrix Server installation includes PowerPath, you need
to edit the /etc/polyserve/fc_pcitable file manually to specify the
HBA in use on the server. (This procedure is described in the
PolyServe Knowledge Base article “HBA Driver Procedures.”)
The mxconfig utility should query for the HBA version and
then edit this file automatically.
7250 Failover can take too long
When the IBM RDAC software is being used, the time required
for failover is dependent on the RDAC software. If failover
times are too long, consult the RDAC PAL on MatrixLink for
tuning suggestions.
7519 Third-party MPIO software must discover devices
When third-party MPIO software such as EMC PowerPath or
IBM RDAC is used, the third-party MPIO software must
discover and present storage devices to the operating system
before Matrix Server is configured or started.
If Matrix Server is started and the third-party MPIO software
has not previously discovered the devices, Matrix Server will
make a “best effort” to discover them. In some cases, Matrix
Server will initiate a single reboot. Matrix Server will not start if
it cannot discover the devices. The administrator must then
determine why the MPIO devices have not been discovered and
resolve the issue.
