partitioning SCSI disks, be sure that partition 15 is the highest-
numbered partition.
Matrix Server supports 2 TB filesystems on basic volumes and up to 16
TB filesystems on dynamic volumes.
If servers from multiple matrices can access the SAN via a shared FC
fabric, avoid importing the same disk into more than one matrix.
Filesystem corruption can occur when different matrices attempt to
share the same filesystem.
Matrix Software Requirements
The operating system and PolyServe software must be installed
consistently across the servers in the matrix. When configuring your
servers, you should be aware of the following requirements:
Operating systems from different vendors cannot be mixed in a single
matrix. All servers must be running either RHEL4 or SLES9.
All servers must be running versions of the operating system and
kernel that are supported by Matrix Server. The operating system
architecture must be the same on all servers (either 32-bit or 64-bit).
The servers in the matrix can be running different versions of the same
operating system type (for example, SLES9 SP2 and SP3), as long as
the above rules are met.
If you will be using a Matrix Server Solution Pack, it must be installed
on all nodes in the matrix.
Tested Configuration Limits
Matrix Server configurations have been tested up to the following limits:
•16 servers per matrix
508 LUNs per matrix
512 filesystems per matrix
1750 filesystem mounts per matrix
64 virtual hosts per matrix
