Matrix Alerts
The Alerts section at the bottom of the Management Console window
lists errors that have occurred in matrix operations. Double click the alert
(in the Location column) to view the error in the matrix tree structure.
The mx alert status command can also be used to display the current
alerts. See the PolyServe Matrix Server Command Reference for details about
this command.
Collect Log Files with mxcollect
The mxcollect utility collects error event logs that can be useful for
diagnosing technical issues with Matrix Server. When you report a
problem to PolyServe Technical Support, you may be asked to run the
mxcollect utility and then send the logs to PolyServe for analysis.
Create an FTP Account
PolyServe provides an FTP server to help you submit log files. To obtain
an FTP account, either call PolyServe Technical Support or submit an
Online Incident Report form. The form and the contact numbers are
available on the following PolyServe Web site:
http://www.polyserve.com/support.php
Run mxcollect
You will need to run the mxcollect utility on each node. The mxcollect
utility is located in the /opt/polyserve/tools directory.
NOTE: The mxcollect utility requires that the root user have ssh
configured correctly and be allowed among nodes in the matrix.
The /tmp directory is used to hold files temporarily while mxcollect is
running. The final output from mxcollect is created in the directory from
which you run mxcollect. In this example, we will run the utility from the
/tmp directory.
