Create a Filesystem
A PSFS filesystem can be created on a basic volume (a psd device) or a
dynamic volume (a psv device). The maximum filesystem size is 16 TB,
which requires a dynamic volume. PSFS filesystems use 4 KB as the block
size.
You can create a filesystem from one server in the matrix using either the
Management Console or the command line. The filesystem can then be
mounted on all servers in the matrix that can access it via the SAN.
Before creating a filesystem, verify the following:
• If the filesystem will be created on a disk partition, ensure that the
disk is partitioned appropriately. If you want to change the partition
layout, you will need to deport the disk, modify the partition layout,
and then reimport the disk.
• The basic or dynamic volume to be used for the filesystem does not
contain needed data. The new filesystem will write over an existing
filesystem currently on the volume.
Create a Filesystem from the Management Console
To create a filesystem, select Storage > Filesystem > Add Filesystem or
click the Filesystem icon on the toolbar.
