Installation and Configuration

This chapter describes how to install the Database Serving Solution Pack

for Oracle HiAv on Linux (MxDB-Oracle-HiAv) and lists prerequisites for

the product.

New Installations

Software Prerequisites

Before installing MxDB-Oracle-HiAv, you will need to install the

following on each node in the matrix, as described in the PolyServe Matrix

Server Installation Guide.

• A supported operating system and kernel as specified in the

MxDB-Oracle-HiAv release notes.

• A supported Oracle release (see the PolyServe Hardware and Software

Compatibility Guide for the supported versions).

• PolyServe Matrix Server 3.1.1 (or higher) and the PolyServe

Management Console 3.1.1 (or higher).

• PolyServe Oracle Disk Manager Library version 3.1.0. The MxODM

package is included in the Solution Pack. See the MxODM release

notes for installation instructions.

When the Matrix Server installation is complete, complete these steps:

1. Create PSFS filesystems for Oracle.
