Storage Manager for SANs
Issue:
Storage M anager for SANs crashes when used to configure storage ( AiO400 only)
Description
The Storage Man
ager for SANs MMC snap-in looks for any direct attach storage
on your All-in
-One Storage System and allows actions such as Create LUN, Extend
LUN,andsoon.ManyoftheseactionscauseStorageManagerforSANsandthe
HP All-in-One Storage System Management console to crash on an AiO400.
Workaround
Always use Adaptec Storage Manager to manually configure storage. Alternatively,
you can use All-in-One Storage Manager to configure your storage automatically
based on storage requirements.

This section describes issues related to system administration of the All-in-One Storage Systems.
System Administration
Issue:
An error me
ssage is displayed and logged to t he system event log when the i8042prt driver
controls
attempt to load on an SB600c Blade System.
Description
Following a system reboot/restart this message may appear:
“At least one service or driver failed during system startup. Use Event Viewer to
examine the event log for details.“ An error is also logged in t he System event log
with the following entry: “The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) filed to
load: i8042prt”.
The i8042prt driver attemps to a load a driver for the PS/2 ports which are
not available on the SB600c Server Blades. These messages do not eff ect the
operation of the system.
This issue only effects system which are factory confi guredwiththeversion1.2or
have a system recovery using the All-in -One Recover DVD version 1.2.0.
Workaround
Follow these steps:
1. Start the Registry Editor.
2. Locate the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\i8042prt\Pa-
rameters
3. On the Edit menu, click Add Value.
4. Add the following registry entry:
Name: Headless
Data Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 1
5. Exit Registry Editor.
6. Restart the server.
WARNING!
Improper use o f the Registry Editor can render the system unbootable.
Installation instructions
After installing HP StorageWorks All-in-One Storage System Update version 1.2.0, update the
App
lication Storage Manager (ASM) management agents on your application servers as the older
agent version will not be compatible with version 1.2.0. Run the ASM Agent Installer setup program
on your application servers af ter installing the Service Release. The setup program is located at:
