Install the storage solution hardware and power on
The AiO SB600c Storage Blade Solution consists of a server blade and storage blade. These blades must be installed adjacent to one another in an HP
BladeSystem c-Class Enclosure as a pair. The figures at right indicate the proper location of server blade/storage blade pairs in device bays 1 and 2, 3 and
4, and so on.
1. Remove the blank from an unoccupied device bay.
2. Remove the enclosure connector cover from the storage blade.
3. Open the locking clip.
4. Install the storage blade by inserting it fully into the device bay and closing the locking clip.
5. Remove a blank from the adjacent device bay and repeat steps 2 through 4 to install the
partner server blade.
Install the storage and server blades
The enclosure Onboard Administrator initiates an automatic power-up sequence when the server
and storage blades are installed. Note that the power-up sequence may take up to one minute. If
this default setting is changed, use one of the following methods to power on the server blade:
• Use a virtual power button selection in the enclosure Onboard Administrator.
• Press and release the Power On/Standby button on the server blade.
The system starts and begins the HP StorageWorks All-in-One Storage System installation process.
The installation process takes approximately 10-15 minutes and requires no user interaction.
IMPORTANT!
If your HP AiO SB600c Storage Blade Solution is factory-integrated, the server and storage blades are pre-installed in an
HP BladeSystem c-Series Enclosure. See the documentation that ships with the enclosure for instructions on connecting and powering on the enclosure.
