System components

The system is shipped with provisioned storage and a configured cluster

that includes three filesystems. System components include:

• EVA4400 dual controller

• 3.6 TB to 96 TB of storage

• Three DL360 nodes, each with 24GB RAM

• Array Based Storage Management with Command View 9.1

• Dual Fibre Channel switches

• Network switch

• Keyboard, Video, Mouse (KVM) switch

• Command View EVA

• Business Copy EVA for snapshots

• Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2003 (64-bit mode)

• HP Clustered File System and Volume Manager software

System setup

The following system setup is included in the Installation and Setup

Service provided with your purchase:

1. Inspect the shipping crate for damage, unpack the system, and install

it in the proper location.

2. Power up the power distribution unit (PDU).

3. Install Command View licenses on the EVA Array Based Manage-

ment Module (ABM).

4. Verify factory settings. Power up the cluster servers, start the cluster

software, and verify that the cluster filesystems are visible on all

nodes.

5. Configure the customer network interface on the cluster servers and

verify that the cluster network is visible.

6. Install the iLO license on each server.

7. Start HP Clustered File System on each cluster server.

8. Set passwords for the switches, ABM, and cluster servers. Also

change the CV password in the HP Clustered File System snapshot

configuration.

9. Test the cluster, verifying that all servers can see files on the filesys-

tems and can perform read and write operations.

10. Configure Virtual CIFS Servers or Cluster File Shares.

The filesystem configuration The cluster is configured with three cluster filesystems that are mounted at C:\psfs001, C:\psfs002, and C:\psfs003. Six disks in the EVA Default Disk Group are used for these filesystems. The disks are configured into three volumes with two vdisks each using 1MB stripes. Each vdisk in the volume pair has one vdisk defaulting to use EVA 4000 controller A and the other disk defaulting to use EVA 4000 controller B. Each volume is striped across both controllers.
