Logging on and off of Storage Mirroring
To ensure protection of your data, Storage Mirroring uses native
operating system security and requires a valid system username and
password. If you do not have a valid system username and password
for a selected machine, you will not be able to configure Storage
Mirroring for that machine.
As you enter DTCL commands, Storage Mirroring automatically
attempts to log on to the source or target machine. You can verify
your access by the resulting message.
! DT_Full_Access—You have administrator rights to the
selected Storage Mirroring machine.
! DT_Monitor_Only_Access—You have monitor rights to
the selected Storage Mirroring machine.
! DT_No_Access—You do not have any rights to the selected
Storage Mirroring machine.
You can also verify your access at the top of the Text Client screen
depending on the commands you have entered and the information
displayed in the upper half of the screen.
If you have monitor access or no access and want to log on as the
administrator, use the
login command. Log off of a machine by
using the
logout command. Both commands are outlined on the
following page.
