6. Run the installOracle10gPatch21.cmd script to install the patch. Alternatively, you

can launch the Windows Explorer and browse to the patch21 folder and then double-click

installOracle10gPatch21.cmd.

Thescriptstopsthefollowingservices:

• AppStorManager (the service for HP Storage Essentials SRM)

• Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MSDTC)

• HP Systems Insight Manager (if you are using the integrated version of HP Storage Essentials SRM)

• Oracle ser vices including:

• OracleOraHome10TNSListener

•OracleJobSchedulerAPPIQ

•OracleServiceAPPIQ

The sc ript starts any services that it stopped after it installs the patch.

The following log ﬁles are created:

• %SystemDrive%\srmInstallLogs\opatch6932785.log — Console output from opatch

when installing Patch 21 (6932785).

• %ProgramFile%\oracle\inventory\logs\opatch<time stamp>.log —Outputfrom

running opatch. You will need to ﬁnd the one corresponding your current execution.

• %ORACLE_HOME%\bundle\patch21\APPLY_APPIQ_<time stamp>.log —Outputfrom

running the Oracle catcpu.sql script in the post patch processing.

• %ORACLE_HOME%\bundle\view_recompile\vcomp_APPIQ_<time stamp>.log —

Output from running the Oracle view_recompile_jan2008cpu.sql scriptinthepostpatch

processing.

7. Please review the log ﬁles for proper op eration. The following errors from Oracle can be ignored:

• ORA-29809: cannot drop an o perator with dependent objects

•ORA-29931:speciﬁed association does not exist

•ORA-29830:operatordoesnotexist

•ORA-00942:tableorviewdoesnotexist

• ORA-0 0955: name is already used by an existing object

• ORA-01430 : column being added already exists in table

• ORA-01432: public synonym to be dropped does not exist

• ORA-01434:privatesynonymtobedroppeddoesnotexist

•ORA-01435:userdoesnotexist

• ORA-01917: userorrole’XDB’doesnotexist

• ORA -01920: user name ’<user-name>’ conﬂicts with another user or role name

• ORA-01921: role name ’<role name>’ conﬂictswithanotheruserorrolename

• O R A - 01951: R O L E ’ C O N N EC T’ n o t g r a n t e d t o ’ W KSYS ’

• ORA-01952: system privileges not granted to ’WKSYS’

• ORA-02303:cannotdroporreplaceatypewithtypeortabledependents
