HP H-series SN6000 and 8/20q Fibre Channel Switch Release Notes

NOTE: All SN6000 Fibre Channel Switches and 8/20q Fibre Channel Switches in the same
fabric must use the same firmware version. Two successive switch firmware versions can be used
in a fabric temporarily while updating switch firmware. Do not enable any new switch features
until the firmware upgrade is complete.
Upgrading SCM
SCM software is included with the purchase of a switch. Current owners of an HP 8/20q Fibre
Channel Switch can download HP SCM 3.40 from HP to upgrade their SCM software.
NOTE: Upgrades to future versions of SCM software will be available only to the customers who
have purchased a software support contract for SCM.
1. Go to the HP website http://www.software.hp.com/kiosk.
2. In the login window User name box, enter SSCM_3X_KIOSK. In the password box, enter
s3*S#M1$, and then click OK.
3. Select the product link, and then click Receive for Free.
4. In the Software specification box, select the software to download, complete the form, and
then click Next.
5. Download the SCM software.

The following 8/20q Fibre Channel Switch models are available:
• AK241B: HP 8Gb Simple SAN Connection Kit (8 switch ports active)
• AQ233B: HP 8/20q Fibre Channel Switch (8 switch ports active)
• AK242B: HP 8/20q Fibre Channel Switch (16 switch ports active)
The following SN6000 Fibre Channel Switch models are available:
• AW575B: HP SN6000 Stackable 8Gb 24-port Single Power Fibre Channel Switch (24 switch
ports active)
• AW576B: HP SN6000 Stackable 8Gb 24-port Dual Power Fibre Channel Switch (24 switch
ports active)
• BK780B: HP SN6000 Stackable 8Gb12-port Single Power Fibre Channel Switch (12 switch
ports active)
