HP H-series SN6000 and 8/20q Fibre Channel Switch Release Notes

Overview
This document for the release of firmware version 8.0.14.08.00 is intended for customers who
purchased the H-series SN6000 Fibre Channel Switch or 8/20q Fibre Channel Switch. The notes
contain late-breaking and supplemental information for these products. It is important that you read
these notes before installing SN6000 Fibre Channel Switch or 8/20q Fibre Channel Switch.
Update recommendation
• For the SN6000 Fibre Channel Switch, this update is routine.
• For the 8/20q Fibre Channel Switch, this update is routine.
Firmware version
To date, firmware version 8.0.14.08.00 is the latest version released for the HP 8/20q Fibre
Channel Switch and the SN6000 Fibre Channel Switch. HP recommends that all H-series Switches
be upgraded to this version of firmware because it incorporates fixes to problems found in previous
versions. .
The firmware file name is HS_8.0.14.08.00. To verify the file integrity after the download, the
md5 hash code for this firmware file is: e734e22694fade0aee9d578797466ea1.
HP SAN Connection Manager (SCM) software is included with the purchase of a switch.
To download the latest firmware from the HP Support Center website:
1. Go to the HP Support Center home page at http://www.hp.com/go/hpsc.
2. From the left navigation panel, under DOWNLOAD OPTIONS click Drivers, Software &
Firmware. The Select a Product page appears.
3. To select an appropriate product, under All HP products, click Storage.
4. Under Storage, click Storage Networking.
5. Under Storage Networking, click H-series Switches.
6. Under H-series Switches, click H-series SAN Switches.
7. Under H-series SAN Switches, click appropriate switch product.
8. Select the appropriate switch model from the list.
9. Click Cross operating system (BIOS, Firmware, Diagnostics, etc.).
10. From the firmware table, click Firmware for the HP H-series Fibre Channel Switches for version
8.0.14.08.00.
11. Click Download to obtain the firmware.
