HP StorageWorks 8/20q and SN6000 Fibre Channel Switch Enterprise Fabric Management Suite User Guide 119
Archiving a switch
You can create an .XML archive file containing the configuration parameters. This archive file can be used
to restore the configuration on the same switch or on a replacement switch. You can also use the archive
file as a template for configuring new switches to add to a fabric.
Basically any data received by Enterprise Fabric Management Suite is archived. Passwords are not
archived. Security Group secrets are not included in the archive and must be re-configured using the CLI
after a restore.
Archived parameters include:
Switch properties and statistics
IP configuration
SNMP configuration
Port properties and statistics
Name server
Date/Time and NTP settings
Alarm configuration
Zoning configuration
Nicknames configuration
Call Home parameters
User account information (but not restored)
Configured security (available only with SSL connection to the switch)
RADIUS Server information (available only with SSL connection to the switch)
To archive a switch:
1. Select a switch in the fabric tree.
2. Select Switch > Archive.
3. In the Save dialog box, enter a file name.
4. Click Save.
