SmartStart
SmartStart version 8.70 will be the last planned release in the form of physical CDs. The Insight Foundation
suite for ProLiant Media Kit will no longer be shipping with the servers after the 8.70 release. The Insight
Foundation suite for ProLiant Kits will be baselined at version 8.70. The downloads will be available from the
HP website (http://www.hp.com/go/foundation).
SmartStart version 8.70 will be the last release that contains Microsoft® Windows 2003 PSP. The
Microsoft® Windows 2003 PSP will continue to be available to download from the HP website
(http://www.hp.com).
Beginning with SmartStart version 8.70, Fibre Channel will not be loaded by default. Once the OS is loaded,
all the normal drivers, including Fibre Channel, will be available.
SmartStart version 8.60 was the last release that contained Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 PSP. The RHEL4 PSP
will continue to be available to download from the HP website (http://www.hp.com).
Removed support from the SmartStart and ProLiant Support Packs version 8.60 for the following servers:

Removed support from the 8.50 versions of SmartStart and ProLiant Support Packs for the following servers:

• HP ProLiant BL45p Server Blade
• HP ProLiant BL45p G2 Server Blade
• HP ProLiant DL580 G3 Server
• HP ProLiant DL585 Server
• HP ProLiant ML370 G4 Server

Included compressed SmartStart PSP components on HP ProLiant servers configured with Microsoft®
Windows Server® 2003 or Microsoft® Windows Server® 2008. The PSP component directory contains a
single, self-extracting archive file containing all components and HPSUM. Autorun has been enhanced to
